A hyperactive tornado season
The 139 tornadoes reported in the South and Southeast on Wednesday killed nearly 300 people in six states, the second-deadliest tornado outbreak since 1950. Spring stormswere predicted to be unusually severe this year. A key reason, according to the Capital Weather Gang, is an amped-up jet stream that is being fueled by this spring’s La Nina.
