Antarctic penguin takes a ‘selfie’ with a travel company’s camera

Humans take “selfies” — photographs of themselves for social media — and, it turns out, sometimes animals do, too. The most recent example: a selfie taken by a gentoo penguin in Antarctica. It seems that the gentoo, with its bright orange beak and orange webbed feet, reached for a GoPro camera being used by the Canadian cruise ship M/S Expedition of the Canadian adventure travel company G Adventures. The camera went off as the penguin reached for it with an open beak, providing a view of what the bird must look like to a gentoo’s meal.
