Loring, Mont., population: 9

Jun. 25, 2012
Nine people live in Loring, Montana, the first town south of the Canadian border on Highway 191. Kenny Clark, one of the town’s residents, said he is responsible for the population boom they’ve had there in recent years because after he moved his wife Brenda Clark there, the couple had two children. Kenny works in the natural gas industry and hopes the Keystone XL pipeline will be approved because he says it will provide good jobs for people living in the area.
