Last week, The Post announced that we are joining forces with The New York Times and Mozilla to create a new community platform, funded by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The platform will be released as open-source software, meaning any publisher could install it and use it.
Our goal: to create a simple, flexible system that will improve the communities on publishers’ sites, including ours. We’ll be guided in this effort by suggestions from publishers, commenters and readers like you. We’re eager to hear your ideas.
Which parts of the commenting and community experience on The Post do you like? What changes to our commenting and community platforms would you like to see? What can we do to improve your comment-reading experience? What specific changes would make participating in our forums more enjoyable for you?
Let us know what you think in the comment section below. We’ll be reading and responding to your thoughts.
