Help us find greater Washington’s most innovative companies: Week 2.

Capital Business is teaming up with the Northern Virginia Technology Council to highlight local businesses with creative ideas.

As part of its annual Destination Innovation event,  NVTC has culled through applications to identify companies offering the next big thing. Sixteen companies will earn a spot at the April 2nd event to pitch their idea to local business leaders.  But to earn a chance to make their pitch, they’re first going to need to win your votes.

NVTC has divided 29 competitors into four categories: Social, commerce, government and security.  These companies have put together short video pitches for their offerings. In the weeks leading up to the competition, Capital Business is showcasing the video pitches of all of the entrants in one of those categories.  Readers will then be asked to vote on which technology they think is the most innovative.  The four videos in each category that earn the largest shares of votes will be invited to present at Destination Innovation, which will be held at the Washington Post’s 15th Street Northwest headquarters.

This week focuses on the commerce category.  You can cast your ballot at the bottom of this page any time between Monday, March 3 at 12:00 a.m. and Friday, March 7 at 11:59 p.m.

Last week we kicked off voting with the social category.  The four top vote-getters were Three Wire Systems, with 42 percent of the vote; followed by Deltek, Byte An Atom Research and Infosys Public Services. You can check out that earlier round of competition here. And come back next week, when we’ll have another roster of companies and pitches for you to vote on.
