Capitals prepare to visit Rangers

The Capitals are back on the ice in Arlington on Saturday morning after taking a day off following the conclusion of their two-game Florida road trip. From the looks of things, Coach Adam Oates isn’t going to tinker with the lineup that has won three straight games heading into Sunday’s tilt at the New York Rangers.

Mike Green headed to the dressing room after skating for roughly 15 minutes, but it’s unclear why the defenseman cut his workout short. I’ll have an update from Oates on Green’s status once practice wraps up. After Green left practice, his usual defensive partner Karl Alzner has been skating with Roman Hamrlik.

Defenseman Jack Hillen, who suffered an apparent shoulder injury in the season opener, is also on the ice this morning. Based on the timeline General Manager George McPhee gave for the blue-liner’s recovery in early February, Hillen still has three to five weeks before he would be nearing a return.

Marcus Johansson, who did not make the trip to Florida because of an upper-body injury, is the only player not on the ice for practice.

Here’s what the lineup looks like in practice:
