Open thread: Capitals vs. Bruins

(Fred Greenslade/Reuters) Braden Holtby makes his 10th straight start tonight.

Right wing Troy Brouwer is too sick to play Tuesday night so the Capitals will have to make  do without their leading goal scorer as they host the Boston Bruins at Verizon Center.

With Brouwer out, Wojtek Wolski will be back in the lineup after sitting out Washington’s 3-0 win over Winnipeg Saturday as a healthy scratch. Wolski figures to slot in at left wing on the second line while Eric Fehr will shift over to the right wing side.

Braden Holtby (7-7-0, 3.01 goals-against average, .907 save percentage) makes his 10th consecutive start and during this stretch he’s gone 6-3-0 stopping an impressive 256 of the 274 shots he’s faced for a .934 save percentage and 2.11 GAA.

He’ll be opposed by Boston’s Tuukka Rask, who is 11-2-2 with a 1.97 GAA and .928 save percentage on the season.

Faceoff: 7 p.m. Verizon Center | TV: CSN | Radio: 106.7
