Capitals stick with the same lineup

After decisive wins over the Winnipeg Jets in back-to-back games, there’s no real need for Coach Adam Oates and the Capitals to change anything heading into Sunday night’s game against the New York Rangers.

Washington will go with the same lineup it used to thrash the Jets, with Braden Holtby in net and Aaron Volpatti, Wojtek Wolski and Jeff Schultz out as healthy scratches.

Holtby, who will be making his fifth consecutive start, made 38 of 40 saves in a 2-1 loss for the Capitals in their first visit to Madison Square Garden this season back on Feb. 17.

Here’s what the lineup should look like:

Forwards
Johansson-Backstrom-Ovechkin
Laich-Ribeiro-Brouwer
Chimera-Perreault-Fehr
Hendricks-Beagle-Ward

Defense
Alzner-Oleksy
Hillen-Carlson
Orlov-Green

Goal: Holtby, Neuvirth
