Defenseman John Erskine is “not quite ready” to return to the lineup, according to Coach Adam Oates and will miss a third consecutive game with an upper-body injury.
With Erskine still sidelined, the Capitals’ lineup for Wednesday’s tilt against the Rangers will remain exactly the same as it was for Monday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers, with Alex Urbom paired with John Carlson and Steve Oleksy and Nate Schmidt working together on the third pairing.
>> Alex Ovechkin was back on the ice for the morning skate after leaving Tuesday’s session early.
“Everything alright, like normal,” Ovechkin said, dismissing any concerns.
