After Ian Desmond’s RBI double in the eighth inning of the second game of yesterday’s doubleheader, his Nats teammates wanted to thank him in the traditional sports manner with some hearty high fives. No one seemed more excited to hand out his five than Bryce Harper.
Harper waited anxiously, hopping from one foot to the next, craning his neck to look for Desmond, who was slowly working his way down the line. When it was finally Harper’s turn, he couldn’t help but offer a happy dance.
Apparently Desmond thought it was cute, too. After seeing the video, he tweeted his approval.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Dan Haren, on winning the first game of the double header:
“I really, really wanted it bad, just to fire up people that are watching. Just to make a few people feel good. I wanted, I really wanted the game bad. I’m glad I did well, and it was even cooler to see how we came back.”
