Comcast SportsNet will announce on Wednesday the hiring of Keli Fulton as a reporter and anchor, starting this week.

Fulton comes to D.C. after three years as a news and traffic anchor in West Palm Beach, Fla. Before that, she was a sports anchor and reporter in New Orleans, covering the Hornets, Saints and LSU, among other subjects. She has also covered sports in Little Rock; in Jackson, Tenn.; and in Northern California.

Fulton, who studied both communications and theater arts at Whitter College, can also sing the hell out of the National Anthem, as seen below, a skill sorely lacking in most local media members I’m familiar with.

Follow her on Twitter @kelifulton. And yes, this news has sort of been out there for a while now, but I guess I forgot to write about it.

Dan Steinberg writes about all things D.C. sports at the D.C. Sports Bog.
