The Redskins’ practice bubble deflated

(via Matthew Dunavant)

On Sunday a rumor circulated that the Redskins‘ practice bubble had been deflated, so I dispatched a Bog street team to go take some photos. As you can see the bubble is, in fact, deflated.

Did it explode? Fall victim to the recent Snowchi? Collapse under the weight of high expectations?

Turns out it’s not a particularly exciting situation, at least as far we know. The official response from team spokesman Tony Wyllie is that it was taken down for “general maintenance and repairs,” with no details on what the exact repairs were. But I guess it is kind of cool to see a balloon the size of a football field laying airless on the ground.

Thanks to readers Matt Dunavant and @vandygirl1988 for the crack investigative photojournaling.
