St. Louis-style pizza fueled Bradley Beal in Game 4

(Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

We weren’t the only ones paying attention to the Great Pizza Debate of the 2014 NBA playoffs. After St. Louis native Bradley Beal last week declared St. Louis pizza was better than Chicago pizza and gave a shoutout to his hometown pizza chain, a special delivery arrived on Saturday.

A sales manager at the Imo’s online store confirmed that one of Beal’s coaches from St. Louis ordered “four or five” Imo’s pizzas to be sent to the Wizards guard. The pizzas — packed in dry ice and made with the St. Louis-style staple Provel cheese — were sent on Thursday and arrived on Saturday. Beal scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting in Washington’s Game 4 win the next day.

To Beal’s anonymous pizza benefactor, whoever you are: Thank you on behalf of all Wizards fans.
