Kansas PG Elijah Johnson called for flagrant foul after hitting Mitch McGary below the belt

Kansas and Michigan are midway through the first half of their Sweet 16 matchup in Dallas, but things are already getting chippy. Via The Big Lead, here are two GIFs of Jayhawks point guard Elijah Johnson taking a cheap shot at Wolverines freshman Mitch McGary.

McGary, the star of Michigan’s second-round win over Virginia Commonwealth, was setting up for one of his patented bone-crushing screens. Instead, he took a fist below the belt and crumpled.



Obviously, Johnson got whistled for a flagrant foul (McGary missed both free throws). And on such a nice guy, too…
