Rex Ryan tells Jets he believes he’ll be fired, report says

New York Jets Coach Rex Ryan believes that he is coaching his final game(s) with the team, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.

Ryan, whose 6-8 team hosts Cleveland this afternoon, told his players as much Saturday night in his version of a pep talk.

“‘Guys, the word on the street is I’m getting fired,'” Glazer said Ryan said. “‘I’m not coming back. I’ve got two weeks left. You guys ride with me, roll with me here and we’ll see what happens.'”

Which makes it sound more like a pep talk than a prediction, something Ryan has shown he’s not very good at. And, besides, the “word on the street” has had Ryan being fired before. But the bottom line is that he’s had two losing seasons and one .500 outing since advancing twice to the AFC championship game.
