NCAA Tournament 2014: Louisville, Saint Louis combine for lowest first-half point total (so far)

With the first two days of the NCAA tournament featuring five overtime games, a buzzer-beater and plenty of upsets, it was just a matter of time before fans experienced a dud or two.

Louisville and Saint Louis played the part during the first half of their second-round matchup on Saturday, combining for a tournament-low 41 points. The Billikens scored zero points outside the paint and shot 6 for 21 from the field.

Luke Hancock was the lone double-digit scorer with 11 points for the Cardinals, who led 25-16 despite turning the ball over 10 times. Last year’s Final Four MOP did most of his damage after enduring this blow to the face early in the game.

Here’s hoping the second half brings some more offense and highlights.
