The children of TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager report that their father will begin treatment for acute leukemia and will miss the NBA playoffs.
Craig Sager II announced the news on Twitter on Thursday night, saying the family had gotten the news just a few days after being told he did not have cancer.

Btw we were told he was leukemia free on Tuesday and then they apologized and hit us with the gut check yesterday.— Craig Sager II (@CraigSagerJr) April 18, 2014
@jose3030 Thanks. He never misses a day of work & my 2 sisters & I never missed a day of school K-12. It’ll be tough, but we’ll get him back— Craig Sager II (@CraigSagerJr) April 18, 2014
From Sager’s daughter:
Sager is a mainstay of NBA telecasts with his ridiculously, wonderfully wild outfits and the playoffs just won’t be the same without him. But, as his son points out, he’ll have time to dream up some new concoctions.
@MikeSolarte Thanks. We’ll be watching lots of basketball together these playoffs. And it’s more time for him to brainstorm some new outfits.— Craig Sager II (@CraigSagerJr) April 17, 2014
