Clint Dempsey makes a deal with a kid: One jersey for a handful of popcorn

If your don’t want to cough up $119.95 for an authentic Adidas Seattle Sounders jersey, you can try doing what a kid did after Sunday’s match against the Houston Dynamo did at CenturyLink Field. Sit in the front row, be generous with your stadium popcorn and Dempsey might just trade you for the shirt off his back.

Good job, kid! Not only did you score some cool swag for peanuts, er, popcorn, but you kept your cool. The young fan didn’t miss a beat chowing down on the buttery kernels while this fantastic show of bartering happened right before his eyes.

The kid’s mom, on the other hand, wow! She’s super excited about this absolutely heartwarming gesture. Of course, her household is probably not short on soccer kits. According to Sounder at Heart, her name is Teresa Predmore, the wife of Bill Predmore, who owns Seattle’s pro women’s soccer team the Reign. No wonder he was able to keep his cool. Well, for a while anyway.

The Sounders beat Houston 2-0.
