Eagles officially name Foles to start at QB against Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles named rookie Nick Foles their starter at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field.

The Eagles ruled quarterback Michael Vick out of Sunday’s game because of the concussion that he suffered during last weekend’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Foles replaced Vick during that game.

This will be the first NFL start for the third-round draft choice in April out of Arizona.

The Eagles and Redskins are tied for last place in the NFC East with identical 3-6 records.

The Eagles have lost five straight games, their longest losing streak during Andy Reid’s coaching tenure. The Redskins have lost three straight games and are coming off their bye week.
