Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo received a fine of $15,750 for a roughing the passer call in last Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears, a person with knowledge of the situation said on Friday.

Orakpo drew the penalty early in the third quarter when on third-and-8, he hit quarterback Josh McCown shortly after the passer released the ball on an incomplete pass. The Redskins argued that the timing of the hit wasn’t late, but the penalty stood.
Orakpo is expected to appeal the fine.
