Phoenix, Passion Pit and Kendrick Lamar to headline 2013 Sweetlife Festival

Synth-pop mavens Phoenix and Passion Pit, ascendant hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar and the Karen O-fronted Yeah Yeah Yeahs will headline Sweetlife 2013: A Food + Music Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion on May 11.

Also hitting the main stage: blues-rock guitarist Gary Clark Jr., the R&B singer Solange and crossover violinist Lindsey Stirling. A second stage features dance-rock acts Holy Ghost! and Robert DeLong, dream-pop composer Youth Lagoon and others.

As for the headliners on the food circuit, there's a decidedly local flavor: Toki Underground, 13th Street Meats, DGS Delicatessen, Everlasting Life Cafe, Luke's Lobster and the Rappahannock Oyster Co. will serve food, along with local brewers including DC Brau, Flying Dog, Chocolate City Brewing and Mountain State Brewery.

This is the fourth edition of the Sweetlife festival, which began in 2010 as concert behind the local salad-and-frozen-yogurt chain Sweetgreen's Dupont Circle location. Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly, but a presale for followers of the @sweetgreen Instagram account will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $75 for general admission lawn seating and $95 for pavilion and pit access. $150 VIP tickets include access to the pavilion and pit areas, plus a special cabana area; food from Rogue 24's R.J. Cooper and Toki Underground's Erik Bruner-Yang; and free salad and filtered water.
