Taqueria Nacional and BakeHouse open near 14th Street

Two restaurant openings along the 14th Street corridor that you'll want to remember as you drag yourself out of bed on Saturday morning: The sprawling Taqueria Nacional (which moved to 1407 T Street NW from its longtime home in Capitol Hill) and the modern, 15-seat BakeHouse (1409 T Street NW) both opened Wednesday.

Breakfast may prove the most important meal of the day for both newcomers (and for the forthcoming Ted's Bulletin, a block south at S Street NW). At Taqueria Nacional, desayunos, as it's known, includes cornmeal pancakes, breakfast tacos of egg and chile and huevos rancheros.

BakeHouse offers coffee and tea, as well as muffins, scones, biscuits and breakfast sandwiches. Both also serve lunch; Taqueria Nacional will also stay open till midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Take a look at the Taqueria Nacional morning menu below.
