The Evens will play Fort Reno on July 8

This post has been updated.

We finally have the first confirmed date for the 2013 Fort Reno summer concert series. The Evens announced they will perform at the Northwest D.C. park at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, July 8.

It's a later start for the Fort Reno series than in recent years: The first concert was held June 18 in 2012, June 27 in 2011 and June 28 in 2010. The ongoing lack of a schedule, combined with the recent deletion of the Fort Reno Twitter and Facebook accounts, was concerning for those wondering when the music might start.

Longtime Fort Reno organizer Amanda MacKaye says there's nothing to worry about. "We just don't feel the need to use Facebook and Twitter anymore, period," she said in a phone message last night. "The Web site has not been updated because the schedule is not ready yet. There's nothing to be concerned about at all."

Update: The full Fort Reno schedule has been posted on Fort Reno's Web site. It follows the traditional Monday-Thursday pattern, beginning July 8 with the final show on Aug. 8.
