Celebrate one year of Satellite Room with $1 beers

Satellite Room The glowing sign behind the bar at Satellite Room. (Fritz Hahn/The Washington Post)

It didn't take long for Satellite Room to become one of our top destinations for a drink after a visit to the 9:30 Club. We love those boozy milkshakes as much as we enjoy singing along with ODB on Wu-Tang Wednesdays. Satellite Room is celebrating its first birthday tonight with a special happy hour: $1 Stella Artois and Stella Cidre from 6 to 9 p.m. Check it out -- you might just find a new bar to add to your U Street orbit.

Fritz Hahn has covered bars, drinks and nightlife for the Washington Post Weekend Section since 2003, but he also writes about everything from Civil War battlefields to sailing classes. You can find him on Twitter and Instagram.
