The Washington Post

The most romantic restaurants in the D.C. area

When Jan. 2 rolls around, stores take down New Year's Eve and holiday decorations to quickly replace them with hearts and flowers. It's almost Valentine's Day, lovebirds.

How you spend it -- and who you spend it with -- is up to you, but if you're in search of a lovely place to break bread, the restaurants below deliver romance in spades. Some don't take reservations, so procrastinators are in luck. For the others (The Inn at Little Washington is booked solid for the weekend), just keep them in mind for the next time you're planning a romantic evening.
