Buffalo Billiards celebrates 20 years in Dupont with $2 beers

Buffalo Billiards turns 20 this month – uncommon longevity these days – and the massive subterranean Dupont pool hall is celebrating Saturday with a day of drink specials and the launch of a new beer brewed in conjunction with Baltimore's Heavy Seas Brewing Company. A new $2 beer deal will start at the top of every hour from 2 to 7 p.m., followed by $5 Patron shots until 8 p.m. Hourly giveaways include golf bags, trips to the Yuengling brewery and tickets for concerts and Nationals games.

General manager James Walther says the Anniversary Ale, served from a firkin, is a twist on Loose Cannon IPA, dry hopped with citra and Columbus hops, and aged with apple wood and hard maple in the firkin. For an interesting taste test, bartenders will pour the anniversary beer alongside the regular Loose Cannon, which will cost $2 between 6 and 7 p.m.

If the weather cooperates, there will be grilling on the patio all day.
