There’s a new Vine trend: whaling

Here’s something you can try this weekend if you haven’t already: whaling.

You don’t have to harpoon anything. Moby Dick is in no way involved, and as far as we can tell, it’s completely ethical. If you have a bad back, whale with caution.

Social media breeds the strangest behavior: owling, cat-breading, planking, the cinnamon challenge, Do it for the Vine, the Harlem Shake. And now, whaling. C|net thinks whaling may have started with Worldchamp Santwon, who has more than 43,000 shares, but its origins are unclear.
