SpiceJet crew’s mid-air dance number not a hit with authorities

This video, which has gone viral, shows a SpiceJet airline crew performing a choreographed dance sequence in celebration of ‘Holi,’ also known as the festival of colors. This two and a half minute routine resulted in India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation suspending two of the airline’s pilots. The Indian Express reports:

“The cockpit was manned at all time as per DGCA regulations that govern the situation when one pilot is outside for example to use the lavatory,” an airline spokesperson said.

“The dance was professionally choreographed and was Holi delight for passengers much like it is done by several airlines around the world to celebrate a special occasion. The entire dance sequence lasted 2.5 minutes,” the spokesperson said.
