There’s more news from the late-night shuffle, and this time  it should be comforting to fans of quirky “Late Late Show” host Craig Ferguson.

Ferguson is close to reaching a deal for a new, half-hour, 7 p.m. syndicated talk show that will begin airing next fall. Tribune Media Services will distribute the show. Ferguson is expected to bring his “Late Late Show” executive producer Michael Naidus and robot skeleton puppet Geoff with him, according to the Associated Press. Ferguson will also begin hosting “Celebrity Name Game,” another syndicated show that starts next month. The Hollywood Reporter offered a description: “The game show is based on the board game Identity Crisis. Celebrities are teamed with contestants to identify famous names (actors, singers, athletes, pop culture figures, politicians, cartoon characters, etc.).”

We first learned that Ferguson, 52, would be leaving his current gig at CBS shortly after it was announced that Stephen Colbert would be taking over David Letterman’s “Late Show” hosting duties next year. James Corden is the suspected frontrunner to replace Ferguson on the “Late Late Show.”

There’s a good chance James Corden will be the new host of the ‘Late Late Show.’ So who is he?
