Man decapitates himself in New York City borough

A 51-year-old man decapitated himself in New York on Monday morning.

Police said the man, who has not been identified, wound a metal chain around his neck and tied the other end to a pole in Hunts Point in the South Bronx. Then he got into his 2005 Honda CRV and stepped on the gas pedal, resulting in his own decapitation, New York Daily News reported.

His body was ejected from the car when he crashed into a parked vehicle, police told PIX 11.

No other information has been released.
