James van Riemsdyk scored 1 minute 40 seconds into the game for an early 1-0 U.S. lead. Marek Zidlicky Ales Hemsky quickly returned the favor to tie the score at 1 less than five minutes in.

Here’s the live-updating game summary.

Earlier Wednesday, Henrik Lundqvist and Sweden shut Slovenia out, 5-0, to advance to a semifinal against Finland, which moved on with the win over Russia. The Americans are on the same side of the bracket as Canada, which on Wednesday was facing Latvia, also with a noon puck drop. The winners of U.S./Czech Republic and Canada/Latvia meet on Friday in a semifinal, and the gold and bronze medal games follow over the weekend.
