Nashville Fridays

As I mentioned in my introductory post, shortly after I moved to Nashville a few years ago, a couple friends and I started a series we call “Songs From My Couch.” We invite local musicians to come play a short set in my living room, record the session, and then post it all online, along with a profile and interview.

I’ll have a brand new session with an incredible neo-soul artist named Jason Eskridge next week. But in the meantime, here’s a song from one of the first sessions we did, with a blues-rock duo called the Cold Stares. Since we recorded this in 2011, the band has put out a self-released album (you should get it), and they’re currently working with producer Mark Needham on another.

The sound engineering on this one was done by Mark Crozier. The video and video editing was by David Johnson.
