Someone did win that massive Powerball jackpot we discussed Wednesday: A winning ticket was sold at a gas station in Milpitas, Calif., a city just outside San Jose.

This ticket wins the $425.3 million grand prize, according to Powerball, although the actual amount will be much lower.

There’s no word yet on who actually bought the ticket, which was purchased at a Chevron on Dixon Landing Road. (We called the gas station this morning, but nobody answered; we’ll update this post if we speak with someone there and get any additional information.)

Meanwhile, it looks like the San Jose area is the place to buy lottery tickets. In December, a man bought a ticket in San Jose that won him half the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot.

And with that jackpot off the table, the next Powerball jackpot is now $40 million, so we’ll resume not writing about Powerball until it reaches a media-frenzy-level amount of money again.
