Yet another winter storm is stretching across much of the United States, bringing snow, ice, wind, sleet and generally miserable conditions to a wide swath of the country.
Here’s a map showing just how many places are experiencing the storm:
Jason Samenow of the Capital Weather Gang reports that much of the moisture in that GIF is snow, with the heaviest snow focused in the Mid-Atlantic and Tennessee Valley regions.
The storm’s impact has been felt from Colorado to Massachusetts, something you can see illustrated in this animation from the the National Weather Service. As much of the country woke up on Monday morning, the storm was stretching from Louisiana to New England:
