Student posts hospital recovery selfie after stabbing

Not long after the stabbing at a high school outside Pittsburgh early Wednesday morning, an Instagram user posted this photo, which — for lack of a better phrase – appears to be a post-stabbing selfie. (There’s really nothing else to call it, right? This is a selfie taken after a stabbing, a student documenting his recovery at the hospital after living through Wednesday’s horror.)

A student named Nathan (or Nate) Scimio does appear to attend Franklin Regional High School, so it seems that this is legitimate:

UPDATE: The selfie spawned a bit of a backlash, so here’s more on that.
