In the wake of the botched execution of Clayton Lockett, the head of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections released a letter outlining the final day of Lockett’s life.

Prisons chief Robert Patton, writing to Gov. Mary Fallin (R), explains how Lockett had been Tasered the morning of his execution and describes how a technician had difficulties finding a place to insert the IV to deliver the lethal drugs. You can read the entire timeline and Patton’s letter to Fallin here:
