A pair of hurricanes are currently heading toward Hawaii, threatening the islands with gobs of rain and gigantic waves. Hurricane Iselle is a Category 1 storm, but the storm is weakening and it is expected to become a tropical storm later on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. (A tropical storm warning has already been issued for Hawaii County.) Heavy rain, with the potential for flooding, could arrive late on Wednesday or on Thursday. Hurricane Julio, also a Category 1 storm as of Wednesday, is currently expected to pass north of the Hawaiian islands early next week, though that could change.

Angela Fritz at the Capital Weather Gang has much more on the storms and their expected impact.
