Video shows Ferguson officer Darren Wilson months before he shot Michael Brown

He is the man at the center of ongoing protests in Ferguson, Mo., and he hasn’t been seen in over a week.

But a new video provides a rare glimpse of Darren Wilson, 28, who police confirmed was the officer who shot and killed unarmed black teen Michael Brown on a street in Ferguson 11 days ago.

The video shows Wilson receiving a commendation on Feb. 11, 2014, during a city council meeting “in recognition of outstanding police work while investigating a suspicious vehicle call.”

“Acting alone, you struggled with one subject and was able to gain control of the subject and his car keys until assistance arrived,” said Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson.
