Americans for Prosperity tries softer, $6 million touch

The ad: Americans for Prosperity, "It's Time for New Ideas"

What it says: "I think that now we've given Obama a fair chance and I don't think he's able to do what we need him to do." Former Obama supporters do the talking.

What it means: Obama's not evil, he's just mediocre.

Who will see it: During the conventions, it will be shown in North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin. It's a $6 million buy, part of a $25 million campaign -- the group's first ad expressly advocating for Obama's defeat.
