Romney at St. Petersburg fundraiser

Mitt Romney arrived at a fundraiser in St. Petersburg late this morning, according to a campaign pool report.

He showed up at the Vinoy Renaissance hotel shortly before noon with just one marked police cruiser accompanying a six-car motorcade, the pool report said. Campaign spokesman Rick Gorka says the campaign wanted a "small footprint." Gorka said Romney was not expected to make formal remarks.

The pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future has set up shop at the same hotel. The group threw a private breakfast briefing on Wednesday

Romney was in and out of Tampa on Wednesday. He traveled to Indianapolis for an address at the American Legion national convention, then returned to Tampa later in the day.
