Time to reexamine communication between Obama and the Hill

President Obama, long criticized for his lack of outreach to Capitol Hill, said he would “examine” his communication habits – but that there will still be fights.

“There’s no doubt that I can always do better,” he said. “And so I will examine ways that I can make sure to communicate my desire to work with everybody so long as it’s advancing the cause strengthening our middle class and improving our economy.”

He said he has good relationships with lawmakers from both parties, even if those relationships haven’t always resulted in agreements.

There will still be “some very sharp differences,” he said.
