Michelle Obama, daughters to spend Presidents’ Day weekend in Aspen

First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia are spending their Presidents’ Day weekend in Aspen, Colo., where they’re expected to hit the ski slopes.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Friday to reporters aboard Air Force One that the first lady and her daughters will be on a "ski trip out west with family and friends.”

Colorado is where the first lady and first daughters have spent their past two Presidents’ Day weekends. In 2012, they went skiing at Buttermilk Mountain and stayed at the home of Aspen Ski Company owners Jim and Paula Crown, according to the Aspen Daily News. In 2011, they went skiing in Vail.

Vice President Biden and his family are also expected to spend the weekend in Aspen; they touched down in Grand Junction on Thursday night. President Obama, meanwhile, is spending his holiday weekend in Florida.
