DSCC launches radio ad against McConnell

National Democrats have launched a small 60-second radio ad buy against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), just a day after actress Ashley Judd passed on challenging him.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee ad features faux March Madness basketball announcers talking about McConnell as if he's siding with Washington over Kentucky. It is at least a five-figure buy, according to Roll Call.

McConnell remains a top Democratic target, and with Judd out of the race, attention has turned to Alison Lundergan Grimes, the 34-year-old secretary of state who is reportedly set to open an exploratory committee.

McConnell has also launched a new five-figure radio ad buy, with his new ad featuring clips of his speech before the Conservative Political Action Conference earlier this month.
