Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), who was in Iowa just this week, is heading to South Carolina in early December.

Perry will headline the Spartanburg County GOP's Bronze Elephant Dinner on Dec. 3, according to the county party's Facebook page.

Perry was last in South Carolina for Republican Gov. Nikki Haley's campaign launch in August.

Perry dropped out of the 2012 presidential race right before the South Carolina primary, following embarrassing losses in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Since then, Perry has made little secret that he is looking toward a potential repeat bid. He has already announced he won't seek reelection as governor next year.

In addition to his trip to Iowa this week, he said he is headed back to the first-in-the-nation state in December.
