‘Between Two Ferns’ video leads to 40 percent more visits to

A White House spokeswoman says the web video President Obama did for that was released Tuesday led to a 40 percent increase in visits to, compared to the previous day.

The spokeswoman previously said that, which hosted Obama's appearance on the faux-interview show "Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis," was the top referrer to on Tuesday.

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett also referenced the 40 percent figure during an appearance on CBS "This Morning."

"The goal is to help reach that young audience. And Zach and the guys at Funny or Die, they have huge followings," Jarrett said. "Every young person I know watches their videos on YouTube. ... And the fact that the website traffic has gone up is really an indication that it’s working."

Sign-ups for the Obamacare exchanges continue to lag behind the administration's goals, with numbers released Tuesday showing fewer people signing up in February than in January. Lack of participation among young people is particularly worrisome for the White House, given the program needs healthy people to offset the costs of older, sicker patients.

President Obama appeared on the program hosted by comedian and actor Zach Galifianakis. NowThisNews has the highlights. (NowThis News)
