DCCC raises $7.1 million in April

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $7.1 million in April, it announced Monday.

The House Democratic campaign arm ended the month with $43.4 million in the bank and has no debt. The National Republican Congressional Committee has not yet released its April numbers. The NRCC ended March with $31.2 million in the bank.

The DCCC's April total is more than $3 million less than its impressive $10.3 million March.

Republicans are well-positioned to hold their House majority. Democrats need to pick up 17 seats to win back control of the lower chamber. Even the most optimistic Democrats don't believe that can realistically be done in November.
