McCain joins parade of surrogates stumping for Cochran

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will campaign for Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) on Sunday, his campaign said, aiming to give the longtime senator a boost ahead of his Tuesday runoff election against tea party challenger Chris McDaniel.

McCain will stump for Cochran somewhere along Mississippi's Gulf Coast, said Cochran spokesman Jordan Russell.

The Arizona senator's visit will come on the heels of other Republicans making closing pitches for Cochran. Gov. Phil Bryant (R) appears in a Cochran TV ad, while former NFL quarterback and Mississippi native Brett Favre appears in a pro-Cochran ad from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
