Virginia 6A, 4A all-state basketball teams named

After naming the selections for its other four classifications, the VHSL released its all-state boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for 4A and 6A.

Nine players from the D.C. metro area earned spots on the teams, including two-time first-team All-Met Nicole Floyd, who led Stonewall Jackson to the 6A state final, and third-team All-Met Eric Bowles, who helped W.T. Woodson reach the state semifinals for the second straight year.

Loudoun County’s Maggie Phillips, who also earned all-state honors and All-Met Player of the Year honors in leading the Raiders to the state volleyball title in the fall, was the lone representative on the 4A team

Here’s a breakdown of the local honorees:
