Ambassador marries partner
U.S. Ambassador to Australia John Berry, 54, married his partner of 17 years, Curtis Yee on Saturday, reports the Washington Blade. The couple married in a private ceremony at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. In a statement, the couple said that attendees included Interior Secretary Sally Jewell.
A daughter joins Lucas cast
Director George Lucas and his wife, Ariel Investments President Mellody Hobson, welcomed their first child together Friday, the Huffington Post reports. Everest Hobson Lucas, who was delivered via surrogate, is the first biological child for the “Star Wars” filmmaker, who is also father to Amanda, 32; Katie, 25; and Jett, 20. Lucas, 69, and Hobson, 44, married June 22.
Brown rebounds after seizure
Chris Brown played in a charity basketball game Sunday, just two days after suffering a seizure. E! Online states that the“Love More” singer’s charity, Symphonic Love Foundation, hosted the event with the L.A. Police Department. The 24-year-old had a seizure Friday morning at the Hollywood recording studio Record Plant. Brown’s rep confirmed that his client suffered from a nonepileptic seizure, citing “intense fatigue” and “extreme emotional stress” as the causes.
Michele appears at Teen Choice
A month into her mourning, Lea Michele showed up Sunday at the Teen Choice Awards. She would leave the ceremony in Universal City, Calif., not only with an award, but also with the vocal sympathetic support of her fans.
The event marked Michele’s first public appearance since her boyfriend and fellow “Glee” star, Cory Monteith, died in July at a Vancouver hotel room after ingesting heroin and alcohol. As the 26-year-old performer tearfully accepted the honor for Choice TV Actress/Comedy, she dedicated the award to Monteith.
“We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart,” said Michele, who wore a nameplate necklace that said “Cory.”
