Maryland baseball players shave heads to support cancer research

The headline says it all. Maryland’s baseball players took razors to their hair today to benefit Vs. Cancer Foundation and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, dedicated to curing cancer among children.

On the field, the Terrapins are 14-8 with huge wins over Virginia and Florida State, two ACC powerhouses. Leadoff hitter Charlie White is hitting a team-best .355 with 20 stolen bases. Ace Jimmy Reed is 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 36.2 innings.

Matt Swope, the team’s director of baseball operations, has this donation page up, too.
